Sources of information
Anything you enter in the service request form comes to us: name, phone number and e-mail address, the place the work is needed (street address or ZIP code) when the form has room for it, and your description of the problem. The same goes for what you say in a call and what you write or attach in an e-mail. This site also leaves some technical traces: each time a page is requested, the host’s servers register the visitor’s IP address and browser, along with the page and the time. Those records exist for security and to keep the site online.
Chat conversations
About the chat: each conversation is recorded, and an automated assistant may answer it. Each chat keeps your messages, together with the name, phone and e-mail you leave and your description of the job, plus the page you opened it from, the website that pointed you here, your approximate location according to your internet address, the browser and device you chat from, and a random code in your browser that tells your chats on the site apart. Service providers run the chat and process the messages to generate its answers. The information is for replying to you, scheduling the job and improving the chat.
Use of cookies
Cookies and statistics, briefly:
- no cookies for advertising or analytics;
- possibly one strictly necessary security cookie from the hosting provider;
- visit counts kept by the host without cookies, as anonymous page-view totals.
Purposes
We use what you send for your job: replying, scheduling, doing the work and following up. The same information supports the records every business keeps, the protection of this website and compliance with legal obligations.
Recipients
Others who may see your information:
- the companies that host the site, handle our e-mail and deliver messages from the service request form;
- service partners helping us answer you or carry out the work;
- public authorities or other parties, when a law requires it or where that is necessary to protect rights or safety.
Opting out of sale or sharing
California law, and the law of several other states, lets residents say no, by opting out, to the sale or sharing of their personal information. Every state applies its own meaning for those two words.
E-mail is the easiest way: write to office@maryvalelocksmith.com, state that you want to opt out of sale and sharing, and give your name plus the e-mail address or phone number we would know you by, so we can look you up in our records. No account is needed and there is no charge. If you would rather talk, call (623) 257-5892.
Expect a confirmation from us, and we will honor the request within the time allowed by law. We keep our questions to the minimum that finding your records takes.
If you want someone else to do this for you, they can act as your authorized agent. We may ask to see the authorization you signed for them.
Global Privacy Control works too: where the law requires it, a browser that sends the signal is treated as having asked to opt out.
Opting out does not affect what you pay or how we work for you.
Access, correction and deletion
You have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected and to have it deleted. E-mail office@maryvalelocksmith.com or call (623) 257-5892 to make a request. Before we act, we may need to make sure that you are the person asking, and using any of these rights will not change how we treat you.
Storage period
We hold information as long as we need it for your request, the work, our business records and our legal obligations, and then we delete it.
Safeguards
We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. Even so, there is no such thing as perfect security, online or off, and we cannot guarantee it.
Minors
We do not direct this website to children under 13 and do not knowingly collect a child’s information.
Revisions
Changes to this page appear here with a new date above, so what you see here is always the latest version.
